Electric vehicle charging provider Bumblebee EV has strengthened its links to the local community by agreeing a new partnership with East Kilbride FC that will see the club’s K-Park home renamed the Bumblebee Stadium.
Founded in the South Lanarkshire town, Bumblebee was acquired by Arnold Clark in 2023 after sustained growth saw it become a UK-wide provider of EV charging solutions.
The agreement marks a significant moment for both parties with Bumblebee EV underlining its commitment to its roots in East Kilbride while supporting the continued growth of local sport and infrastructure.
Scott Deacon, managing director of Bumblebee EV, said: “East Kilbride is where Bumblebee began, and it remains close to our hearts.
“To see our name on the stadium of our local club is incredibly special. This partnership is about giving back to the community, supporting grassroots football, and being part of the town’s future.”
On the field, the club has also been enjoying a renaissance with the team preparing to kick off life this season in Scottish League One having secured back-to-back promotions.
David Kerr, commercial director at East Kilbride, said: “We believe this partnership will be hugely beneficial for both parties and reflects our shared ambitions for growth and success.
“We look forward to developing a long and prosperous relationship with Bumblebee and working together to create lasting value for our supporters, our community, and both organisations in the years ahead.”
