Tennis ace Sir Andy Murray’s Cromlix House Hotel in Perthshire has returned to profit as it prepares to reopen following extensive refurbishment.
The business turned in a profit of £193,379 in the year to March last year, from a loss of £369,044 in the previous accounting period. Cash reserves rose by more than £360,000 to £610,494.
The hotel is closed for the installation of new facilities, including two restaurants and a wellness suite. It is due to reopen on 15 May.
Murray bought the Victorian pile, close to his home town of Dunblane, in February 2013, for a reputed £1.8 million.
He and Kim Sears held their wedding reception at the venue in 2015, following his elder brother Jamie Murray and Alejandra Gutierrez doing the same five years earlier.
The two-times Wimbledon singles winner and Olympic gold medallist invested in business ventures during his tennis career.
Since retiring in 2024 he has taken up a number of ambassadorial roles with companies such as shortbread maker Walker’s, the potatoes provider Albert Bartlett and pet food busines Purina. He launched his own collection of sports clothing with the apparel maker Castore.
