Sustainability champions urged to enter awards – Daily Business

The country’s most sustainable companies are being encouraged to celebrate their achievements by entering the Scotland Business of the Year Awards.

Whether it is a product or service that supports the endeavours of others, or a strategic change or investment that has made a significant impact, the judges are looking to recognise a business that is taking an authentic approach to sustainability.

Businesses in all sectors will be considered, so long as there has been a genuine change for the good in the last 12 months.

The awards are taking place for the first time in Scotland in 2026, organised by TheBusinessDesk.com and supported by PwC, Daily Business and TheBusinessGrid.

Entries are open for 13 categories spanning businesses of all sizes and sectors, including fast-growth businesses, international trade, investment, and employers. There will also be two individual awards, for chief executive of the year and ambassador.

Peter Walker, editor of TheBusinessDesk Scotland, said: “Companies are realising that sustainability doesn’t have to be a trade off with profitability – innovative initiatives can be mutually beneficial – so our judges want to recognise the very best of these.

“Whether it is a new product, or a more efficient process, we want to hear from those businesses that are delivering results.”

The awards are now open for entries. with a deadline of Friday, 16 January.

Entries are free, and the awards will have a rigorous judging process. Site visits will take place in February and March, with shortlisted companies invited to pitch to judges in May, before the winners are revealed at a black-tie awards evening in June.
