

Air Charter Scotland will take on the suspended Wick-Aberdeen route as part of an expansion into scheduled air service operations in the new year.
The Glasgow headquartered company has signed a contract with Highland Council to operate the Public Service Obligation (PSO) route from 12 January. It has not been operating since the collapse of Eastern Airways in October.
Air Charter Scotland will lease a BAe Jetstream 32 from – and operated by – Netherlands airline AIS Airlines before adding the type to its own fleet in the next few months.
Bookings go live from 6 January and flights will operate six days a week excluding Saturday from Wick, where the aircraft will be based, and from Aberdeen.
Chief operating officer Derek Thomson said: “We are proud to support the Caithness community by keeping this vital air link flying, providing a critical lifeline air service the region can be truly proud of.”
Headquartered in Glasgow, with operational bases in London and Malta, Air Charter Scotland is Scotland’s second oldest airline operator.
Air Charter Scotland is an aircraft asset management company. The fleet is offered for third party charter.
It began operations with Cessna 310 and Beech King Air 200 aircraft before expanding into executive jet operations back in 2006.
