Aberdein Considine has appointed contractual recoveries specialist Shilpi Jairath as operations director with its lender services practice group.
Based in the firm’s Newcastle office and with more than 22 years of experience in contractual recoveries across consumer and commercial agreements, Ms Jairath brings expertise in secured and unsecured lending and complex mortgage repossession litigation.
She joins Aberdein Considine from national recoveries firm Ascent Performance Group, where she held a variety of roles, most recently serving as head of litigation.
She has managed multiple teams and large-scale operations, ensuring seamless coordination, process optimisation, and high performance.
Speaking about her decision to join Aberdein Considine, she said: ““Having worked at a senior level in contractual recoveries for many years, I jumped at the chance to join Aberdein Considine’s award-winning Lender Services Practice Group, which is renowned as one of the UK’s leading debt recovery specialists.
“The firm’s strong reputation for client service, increasing market presence and commitment to innovation in the legal and financial sectors really appealed to me.
“The opportunity to lead operational strategy and drive efficiencies across a dynamic, growing business resonated strongly, but what truly stood out was the warm and welcoming culture. From day one, I’ve felt part of a collaborative team that values people as much as performance.
“Looking ahead, I’m excited to focus on key objectives over the next year such as enhancing process automation, strengthening cross-functional alignment and delivering measurable improvements in client experience and operational performance.”
Myra Scott, head of Aberdein Considine’s lender services practice group, said: “Shilpi is a fantastic asset to our team, bringing 22 years’ experience as head of secured recoveries and a sterling reputation in the industry for her recoveries expertise.
“Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we focus on maintaining our high levels of client service and consumer duty.”
Ms Jairath’s appointment comes at the close of another exciting year for Aberdein Considine’s Lender Services Practice Group. In July 2025, the firm was named UK Legal Team of the Year at the Credit Awards and, in November, the Herald Law Awards of Scotland’s Debt Recovery Team of the Year trophy went to Aberdein Considine for the second year in a row.
