The company behind Inverlochy Castle has acquired The Uig Hotel in Skye for an undisclosed sum, strengthening its Highlands and Islands portfolio.
It also owns Knochendarroch Hotel, Pitlochry and Rocpool Reserve in Inverness, and completed the latest dea from Billy and Anne Harley.
The 19-bed Uig Hotel will be operated by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI), which manages a number of Scotland’s hotels, lodges and inns in addition to the Inverlochy Castle portfolio, including Glenfinnan House Hotel, The Inch Hotel, Isle of Eriska Hotel & Spa, and the recent addition, Thackray House Hotel in Callander.
Sitting on the hillside above Uig Bay on the Trotternish peninsula, The Uig Hotel is surrounded by some of Skye’s most-visited natural attractions, including the Fairy Glen, the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr.
Norbert Lieder, managing director of ICMI, said: “We are proud to extend our footprint to the Isle of Skye, one of Scotland’s most visited destinations.
“The Uig Hotel is an excellent business with a brilliant team, thanks to the work of the current owners, Billy and Anne Harley. We are excited to build on their success and bring the unique ICMI offer to the island. Our aim is to continue to serve the Uig community, bringing jobs and supporting local businesses.”
Billy and Anne Harley said: “It has been an enormous privilege to be the custodians of The Uig Hotel and to serve this wonderful community over the years. After careful consideration, we believe the time is right to pass the hotel into new ownership.”
