An audio electronics business, whose clients include Harry Styles and Sabrina Carpenter, has received funding to ramp up production of its sound monitoring system.
A £40,000 loan from DSL Business Finance, part of the British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland, enables Fretronics Engineering to double monthly output from its Govan factory.
Its system monitors main audio lines during a performance and, if they fail, automatically switches to a backup, so the show continues.
Founder Olly Warner developed the system while servicing and modifying equipment for local musicians.
He set up the company in 2022 and has since produced custom equipment for artists including Coldplay, Lewis Capaldi, Biffy Clyro, Slipknot and the 1975.
He now plans to add to his team of four and expand into neighbouring premises.
“Our products are trusted by leading artists and engineers around the globe for their performance, reliability and build quality, and it has been great to have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the business,” he said.
“The funding secured via the Investment Fund for Scotland has been a core part of our ability to grow, providing us with the capital we need to be able to purchase the parts and increase our production levels.”
