Jobs at risk as Wallace McDowall in administration – Daily Business

Wallace McDowall is seeking a buyer

Scottish engineering company Wallace McDowall, employing about 200 workers, has collapsed into administration after 57 years in business.

The company, based at the Spaceport at Prestwick International Airport, has appointed Leonard Curtis as administrators.

Speculation surrounding the firm’s financial position has been circulating since April when an internal memo warned of possible insolvency proceedings.

Prior to entering administration, it changed its name to WMCD Realisations 2026. The administrators will be looking at restructuring or a potential sale of the business.

In 2019 Wallace McDowall was acquired by the HLD Group as part of efforts to expand the group’s wider business portfolio.

Companies House records state that a statement will be issued by the administrator in the coming days.
