Owner of The Ivy restaurants is expanding the brand in Glasgow after securing one of the city’s most prestigious premises.
Troia (UK) Restaurants has agreed a deal with Glasgow developer Lujo Properties for three floors of the the former Clydesdale Bank headquarters in St Vincent Place.
A planning application has been submitted for the new venture that will trade as The Ivy and Ivy Asia. The owners will retain the historic building’s original features including an enormous cupola over the former banking hall.
The Troia group, owned by hospitality entrepreneur Richard Caring, has an Ivy restaurant on Buchanan Street and The Ivy on the Square on Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square.
The company, which owns celebrity-favourite Annabel’s, the private members’ club in London’s Mayfair, plans to redevelop the Buchanan Street restaurant.
