FWB expands finance offering
FWB Executive Search has expanded its CFO & senior finance leadership practice with two senior appointments, reflecting sustained growth in the senior finance market across Scotland and the UK.
Daryl Harper and Walker Wares have joined the practice, strengthening FWB’s capability across CFO and CFO-1 mandates.
This expansion also consolidates the CFO & senior finance leadership as FWB’s largest functional practice, accounting for around 25% of the business’s activity.
The growth reflects increasing demand from boards, investors, and executive teams for finance leaders who can operate beyond traditional financial stewardship – playing central roles in strategy, value creation, governance, and long-term succession planning.
Mr Harper joined FWB at the end of last year and brings more than 13 years’ experience recruiting senior finance professionals across Scotland. Formerly with Amplifi, he has worked with a broad range of organisations, from large corporates to privately-owned and scaling businesses.
Mr Wares has joined this month from Drax Executive in London, where he specialised in CFO and private-equity-backed mandates. His experience includes placing senior finance leaders into mid- to large-cap, high-growth businesses and supporting portfolio companies through periods of transformation, value creation and exit.
Michael Dickson, board director at FWB said: “The rate of change with regards to the requirements of financial functions is driving the growth of CFO and CFO-1 mandates and reflects how central finance leadership has become to organisational performance and long-term resilience.
“Businesses are increasingly focused not just on appointing for today, but on building depth and
succession within their finance functions.”
