AngloGold Ashanti Plc’s profit jumped 160% last year as the miner expanded production amid bullion’s record-breaking rally.
The company said on Friday that net income climbed to $2.6 billion in 2025 and declared its highest-ever payout to shareholders, totaling $1.8 billion across the year.
Shares of AngloGold gained as much as 5.2% in Johannesburg.

AngloGold joins peers including Agnico Eagle Mines and Gold Fields in reporting a surge in profits after the price of the precious metal jumped 65% last year. The rally continued into 2026, soaring to an all-time high near $5 600 an ounce in late January before pulling back.
The firm is the biggest producer of gold from African countries. Output last year increased 16% to 3.1 million ounces from mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Tanzania, Guinea and Ghana, as well as operations in Australia and South America.
