Step into the producer’s chair at Moneyweb

Moneyweb is a financial media group and a wholly owned subsidiary of AME. We focus on producing independent, high-quality investment news on various platforms, including online, radio, print, newsletters and through our various event activations. 

Position overview

We’re looking for a producer for Moneyweb’s SAfm Market Update to join our fast-paced, multi-platform radio and podcast team. This is a full-time position, operating within a shift system alongside the current production team.

Main responsibilities

In collaboration with the presenter, the producer will:

• Assist with the production of the daily Market Update show and related features
• Source and book relevant, high-quality guests for interviews
• Contribute strong editorial angles, topic ideas and market-driven content
• Prepare briefs, notes and supporting material for interviews
• Work with commercial clients and manage sponsored content in line with Moneyweb’s editorial standards
• Manage administration tasks related to radio programming
• Work closely with the editorial and digital teams
• Adhere to reasonable requests from Moneyweb management.

Minimum qualifications and requirements

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to perform under pressure in a live broadcast environment
• Flexible and willing to work shift hours
• At least three years’ experience in the media, radio or business-news environment
• An economics, finance, journalism or related qualification will be advantageous
• Solid understanding of financial markets and the business news cycle
• An established contact database in the investment or corporate space is beneficial
• Own transport is required.
