TymeBank completes rebrand to GoTyme Bank

TymeBank has officially completed its transition to GoTyme Bank, marking a strategic rebranding that aligns its South African identity with the broader Tyme Group.

This move positions the local institution alongside its international counterparts in markets like the Philippines and Vietnam, unifying a global banking group that now serves 20 million customers worldwide.

CEO Cheslyn Jacobs emphasised that while the brand has changed to better express its global scale and digital-first ambition, the bank’s fundamentals, including its South African license and regulatory oversight, remain entirely unchanged.

“GoTyme Bank reflects who we are today and where we’re going next as part of a global banking group with a strong South African foundation,” said Jacobs.

A central component of this transition is the launch of the new GoTyme Bank app, which went live on 22 January 2026.

The rollout is being managed through a deliberate, phased migration to prioritise security and platform stability.

The new platform introduces a modernised design and enhanced performance, featuring Stronger Security, stability and customer experience.

Seamless transition for existing users

Existing TymeBank customers are not required to open new accounts or undergo additional verification.

All sensitive information, including account balances and full transaction histories, has already been migrated to the new system.

Users simply need to download the GoTyme Bank app and log in with their current credentials to maintain full access.
