Nicola Anderson has taken up the role of director of scaling innovation at Scottish Enterprise after moving to the economic development agency from Fintech Scotland.
She will lead the agency’s Scaling Innovation Mission, focused on helping companies across key industries including life sciences, industrial biotechnology, fintech, and critical technologies such as photonics, quantum and semiconductors.
Ms Anderson served as chief executive of Fintech Scotland for five years helping lead innovative research and establish a number of initiatives, including the Financial Regulation Innovation Lab and the UK’s first FinTech Research and Innovation Strategic Roadmap.
Her departure was announced last October when Aleks Tomczyk was appointed her successor.
She said: “Scotland has extraordinary innovation strengths and the global potential to match. I’m extremely excited to take on this role and help our companies scale faster, compete on the world stage, and succeed in high-growth sectors.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with founders, industry, investors, public sector and academic partners to drive growth, create jobs, unlock essential infrastructure, and open up international market opportunities.”
