Wales v Barbarians: Twickenham to host double-header in July

Wales men will use the away match in London as a part of their preparations for the inaugural Nations Championship in which they will face southern Hemisphere rivals Fiji, Argentina and South Africa over consecutive weeks in July.

The South Africa game has been announced as being in Durban on July 18 while the venues for the other two matches are yet to be officially confirmed.

“Playing against the Barbarians is always a very special occasion,” said Wales men’s head coach Steve Tandy.

“They play with freedom and creativity and bring together some of the best players in the world.

“This is a game that will be an important part of our preparation as we gear up for the Nations Championship and will offer up some exciting action for fans.”

Wales women will have completed their Six Nations campaign in May and be looking forward to the WXV Global Series in September and October.

“The Baa-baas are a key part of rugby’s culture and history and have the ability to attract world class talent ,” said Wales women’s head coach Sean Lynn.
