Trojan Energy, the Scottish kerbside charging company, has appointed advisers as it considers a sale of the business.

Its investors include BGF, the Scottish National Investment Bank and Equity Gap and Interpath Advisory has invested bids for the company which were due this week, reports Sky News.

Trojan, based in Stonehaven, provides on-street and kerbside charging technology, with a UK-wide network of more than 1,500 connections and contracts to install hundreds more..

Founded in 2016, the company raised £26m in January 2024. Other investors include Scottish Enterprise, SIS Ventures and Alba Equity.

Trojan Energy’s chargers sit flat and flush with the pavement, giving access for the many Britons that have or want an electric car, but do not have a driveway in which to park in and charge at home.

Interpath and BGF both declined to comment.
