{"id":9705,"date":"2026-01-06T02:24:33","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T02:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=9705"},"modified":"2026-01-06T02:24:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T02:24:33","slug":"man-dies-in-sydney-after-being-pepper-sprayed-by-nsw-police-during-arrest-sydney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=9705","title":{"rendered":"Man dies in Sydney after being pepper-sprayed by NSW police during arrest | Sydney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">A man has died in hospital after he suffered a medical episode during an arrest in Sydney\u2019s west.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Officers were called to a home in Homebush about 8.30am on Monday morning after reports of an alleged domestic\/family violence-related incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/new-south-wales\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">New South Wales<\/a> police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Police said officers deployed OC spray, or pepper spray, while trying to arrest a man.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The man, 52, suffered a medical episode and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The man died in hospital on Monday evening, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Inquiries into the critical incident investigation will continue and the investigation will be subject to an independent review.
