Carolyn Currie, Marie Owen and Willie Watt<\/em><\/p>\n

Scottish business and political leaders, scientists, academics and key figures in the arts and sport are among those named in the New Year Honour\u2019s List.<\/p>\n

Professor Simon Milne<\/strong>, regius keeper and chief executive of the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh is knighted, along with former Labour MP Adam Ingram<\/strong>, while Willie Watt<\/strong>, chairman of the Scottish National Investment Bank, is made a CBE.<\/p>\n

Also appointed a CBE is Prof Susan Rigby<\/strong>, principal and vice-chancellor at Edinburgh Napier University.<\/p>\n

Among those receiving the OBE are former Hearts chair and CEO Ann Budge<\/strong>, CBI Scotland director Michelle Ferguson<\/strong> and Marie Owen<\/strong>, founder and chief executive of LS Productions. <\/p>\n

Carolyn Currie<\/strong>, chief executive of Women\u2019s Enterprise Scotland, is made an MBE.<\/p>\n

British Olympic ice skating champions Christopher Dean<\/strong> and Jayne Torvill<\/strong> (now Christensen) become a knight and a dame. Others knighted are the television writer Roy Clarke<\/strong>, the actor Idris Elba<\/strong> and Tristram Hun<\/strong>t, director of the V&A. <\/p>\n

Ann Budge, Anneliese Dodds and Michelle Ferguson<\/em><\/p>\n

Prof Lorna Dawson<\/strong>, head of the centre for forensic soil science at James Hutton Institute, Aberdeen, becomes a dame, alongside the Aberdeen-born Labour MP Anneliese Dodds<\/strong> and the comedian Meera Syal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

TV and film is also represented by Warwick Davis, Gaby Logan, Marcus Wareing<\/strong> and Clive Tydesley<\/strong>. Auchterarder-born Eve Graham<\/strong>, 82, who was a member of the 1970s pop group The New Seekers, is among the musicians.<\/p>\n

The oldest recipient this year is John Hearn<\/strong>, who at 102 receives a BEM for services to judo and to the community in North East England. He is one of four centenarians on the list.\u00a0<\/p>\n
