{"id":6859,"date":"2025-12-25T21:10:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T21:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=6859"},"modified":"2025-12-25T21:10:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T21:10:50","slug":"murder-arrest-after-death-of-woman-in-her-80s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=6859","title":{"rendered":"Murder arrest after death of woman in her 80s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 80s died in an incident at a flat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Police were called to the flat in Keepers Road, Devizes, at about 08:10 BST after reports of a serious assault.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Despite efforts from the South Western Ambulance Service, the force confirmed that the victim died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A 63-year-old woman was arrested and has since been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries which are not thought to be life-changing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">DI Alan Smith, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: &#8220;This is a tragic incident in which an elderly woman has lost her life on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;We have arrested a woman who is known to the victim and I can confirm we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;A scene has been set up at the flat and an urgent investigation is being carried out, which will involve house-to-house enquiries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;Local residents will see an increased policing presence over the coming days.
