Scottish health supplements entrepreneur Gemma Stuart has raised \u00a3300,000 to help scale her business across the UK and hire staff.<\/p>\n
Equity Gap and Apollo Informal Investments have joined Scottish Enterprise in the funding round for Gutsy Health, the Edinburgh-based company behind the Gut Wealth range.<\/p>\n
The funding will also hel accelerate international growth and expand the company\u2019s product portfolio of digestive supplements.<\/p>\n
Ms Stuart launched Gutsy Health following her own 15-year battle with IBS, a condition affecting one in 20 people in the UK\u00a0and linked to an estimated \u00a33bn in annual lost sick days.<\/p>\n
After years of bloating, cramping and finding nothing in the UK market that consistently helped, she set out to create simple, science-led products using clinically studied postbiotics and targeted nutrients to support bowel regularity and calmer digestion.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Gut Wealth range has already earned industry recognition, including Scottish EDGE funding.<\/p>\n
