The governor of Rhode Island insisted on Monday evening that everything was being done by law enforcement to catch the person responsible for the mass shooting at Brown University<\/a> in the state\u2019s capital on Saturday that killed two people and wounded nine others, as a huge manhunt continued.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want to see the individual that pulled the trigger on these young kids identified, apprehended and brought to justice,\u201d Daniel McKee, the state\u2019s governor and a Democrat, said at a press conference early on Monday evening.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the authorities released several excerpts of video footage of a fresh person of interest wanted in the deadly shooting.<\/p>\n Clips showed a person in dark clothing walking briskly on a sidewalk not far from the university campus in Providence, the capital of Rhode Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are asking the public for assistance,\u201d Providence police chief Oscar Perez said at the press conference.<\/p>\n The FBI announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the case being solved. The video clips were recorded before the shooting, the authorities said.<\/p>\n The police do not have an identity of the person of interest or clear images of the person\u2019s face. The new clips and stills unveiled on Monday evening appeared to showed the person wearing a hat or winter head covering that came down over their ears and covered the lower part of their face.<\/p>\n The individual is considered likely to be armed and dangerous, the Rhode Island attorney general, Peter Neronha, earlier told a reporter for CNN on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n This followed the release<\/a> from custody by the authorities of a previous person of interest who had initially been detained in the case.<\/p>\n The atmosphere on campus and in the New England city remained one of fear and intense vigilance on Monday.<\/p>\n The two students who died in Saturday\u2019s tragedy at the elite Ivy League university in Rhode Island were being remembered.<\/p>\n Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was \u201can incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light\u201d, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.<\/p>\n Cook was vice-president of Brown\u2019s chapter of College Republicans of America, the group said<\/a>. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, also posted <\/a>condolences to X, saying in part: \u201cThere are no words.
