Peter Greene, a character actor best known for his role as the iconic villain Zed in\u00a0\u201cPulp Fiction,\u201d\u00a0has died. He was 60.<\/p>\n

He died in his home in New York City, his manager, Gregg Edwards confirmed on Friday. His cause of death was not immediately released.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was just a terrific guy,\u201d said Edwards. \u201cArguably one of the greatest character actors on the planet; Has worked with everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, Greene landed some of his first leading roles in \u201cLaws of Gravity\u201d in 1992 and \u201cClean, Shaven\u201d in 1993, according to IMDb.<\/p>\n

In 1994, he played the memorable villain in Quentin Tarantino\u2019s \u201cPulp Fiction,\u201d who is brought in to torture characters played by Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames. That same year, he played another leading villain opposite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz in \u201cThe Mask.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greene was working on two projects when he died, including a documentary about the federal government\u2019s withdrawal of funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development, according to Edwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been friends for over a decade,\u201d said Edwards. \u201cJust the nicest man.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
