In 2024-45 he led Union Saint-Gilloise to the Belgian league title, its first for 90 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">He is now among the candidates spoken to by Scottish FA chief executive Ian Maxwell and chief football officer Craig Mulholland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Clarke ended his seven-year tenure after Scotland failed to make progress from the initial stages of the World Cup. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A replacement is thought to be imminent, with a four-game group of fixtures in the Nations Cup starting in Slovenia on 26 September. The first game at Hampden will be against Switzerland three days later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Pocognoli\u2019s playing career, included spells with West Bromwich Albion and Brighton &amp; Hove Albion, and he earned 13 caps for Belgium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">He would become the second foreign coach of the Scotland men\u2019s team, after German Berti Vogts.
