D&G Autocare has passed the twentieth garage milestone across the UK after opening a branch in Ayr.<\/p>\n
The 21st outlet is a \u00a3200,000 facility in the town\u2019s Boundary Road offering the full remit of D&G Autocare services, including\u00a0Class 4 & Class 7 MOT testing, vehicle servicing & repairs, together with a comprehensive tyre shop.<\/p>\n
It is located at Heathfield Industrial Estate, a vibrant area that is home to a\u00a0range of businesses, from supermarkets to hardware stores, leisure facilities to fast food outlets.<\/p>\n
\u201cHeathfield Industrial Estate is the ideal location for us in Ayr, providing ample footfall, local facilities, and through traffic to support the growth of this new branch as we bed into the local community,\u201d said Scott Cameron, one of D&G Autocare\u2019s top-performing managers, who is now heading up the new outlet.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve now surpassed our original target of 20 garages within 20 years of the business which we achieved last year with the launch of our Cumbernauld branch,\u201d<\/p>\n
Scott joined D&G in 2018 as a technician, before\u00a0developing his experience and leadership skills to enter the management side of the business.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new Ayr garage represents our furthest move west in Scotland so far,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The \u201cfriendly garage\u201d, as it\u2019s known, already has a branch in Rutherglen, Glasgow, with three more covering Lanarkshire. <\/p>\n
In the east of Scotland, 14 garages stretch from Fife and Edinburgh, to West Lothian, Perth, Stirling, and Tayside. In England, D&G in Carlisle opened in August 2024, bringing the trusted D&G name to a new part of the UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially, we\u2019ll be employing six technicians here in Ayr,\u201dsaid Scott.\u00a0\u201cWhilst there will not be an apprentice in place from day one, creating apprenticeship opportunities is certainly part of our plans for the site, as we have a very successful apprenticeship scheme in place across the group.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additionally, the new garage & tyre shop is offering fleet vehicle maintenance & servicing, alongside repairs and maintenance for petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.<\/p>\n
\u201cElectric vehicles are now becoming something we see multiple times a day,\u201d he said. \u201cThe training we give to our team members puts them ready to support our customers no matter what their issue is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Each new outlet is a \u00a3200,000 investment to \u201ccover everything from building preparation, to vehicle lifts, to IT equipment\/diagnostic machines, and equipping the MOT test bay. It also stretches to provide speciality equipment such as that needed for Air Conditioning systems, and so on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scott said he was confident that D&G Autocare would make a strong entry into the Ayr autocare market.<\/p>\n
