He has a strong background in supporting business customers of all sizes, from SMEs and mid-market companies through to global corporates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">His appointment further underlines the Royal Bank\u2019s commitment to growth in Scotland and to strengthening its position as Scotland\u2019s biggest bank for business. The Royal Bank of Scotland supports 110,000 Scottish businesses, with 7,600 of these businesses in the vital mid-market segment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement comes as NatWest Group\u2019s chief executive Paul Thwaite is meeting customers and colleagues across Scotland ahead of the Royal Bank of Scotland\u2019s 300<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary next year.
