Shepherd and Wedderburn, the Scottish legal firm, has reported a 6% rise in turnover to \u00a383.1 million for the year ended 30 April, its ninth consecutive year of growth. <\/p>\n
Net profit improved by 2% to \u00a336.7m, following the 20% increase in the previous financial year.<\/p>\n
Andy Hall, who was appointed managing partner on 1 May, said: \u201cWith continued strength across our core sectors and a strong pipeline of work, the firm enters the new financial year with confidence and a clear focus.\u201d<\/p>\n
Over the past year, it has advised on a range of significant transactions across the UK and internationally.<\/p>\n
These include the \u00a31.3 billion Granton Waterfront regeneration, delivered with Cruden Homes, the acquisition of the Cameron House Hotel and Resort on Loch Lomond from affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, and the continued development of Edinburgh Park, including the sale of the Station Square site to AEG Europe for an 8,500-capacity arena.<\/p>\n
The firm paid a bonus of 4% of annual salary to all employees, alongside discretionary individual performance bonuses.<\/p>\n
It invested in a move to a new London office at 1-6 Lombard Street, overlooking the Bank of England and the Royal Exchange, reinforcing its position in the City. <\/p>\n
The firm has also committed to relocating its growing Aberdeen office to the Capitol Building on Union Street later in the year.<\/p>\n
