Shares in Edinburgh software company Craneware fell sharply after the company suffered a cyber?security attack.<\/p>\n
Employee data as well as a subset of customer and partner records were accessed, said the company, which provides cost management software to the US healthcare market.<\/p>\n
The AIM-quoted firm said it had notified the FBI and the UK\u2019s Information Commissioner\u2019s Office of the incident.<\/p>\n
Much of the data involved appeared to be non?sensitive or already public regulatory information, though a portion of employee data and a subset of customer and partner records were also accessed, it said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n
It said the breach has been contained, with no disruption to customer services or wider operations. External specialists have also confirmed that there were no indicators of compromise across its systems.<\/p>\n
Craneware said it was continuing to assess the full nature and scope of the data affected and added that it was working with advisers to identify impacted parties and prepare appropriate notifications, including any further regulatory disclosures required.<\/p>\n
Craneware shares were down 9% or 110p at 1,104.00\u00a0an hour ahead of the LSE close. The shares are down by more than 40% since the start of the year.<\/p>\n
The company last year fended off a takeover approach from Bain Capital and last week Daily Business reported that another bid is expected by analysts.<\/p>\n
