Largo Arts Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seventh Largo Arts Week features work by about 30 artists and craftworkers who are opening their homes and studios in Lower Largo, Lundin Links and Upper Largo.<\/p>\n

Paintings, wood carvings, pottery and textiles are among the items produced by a mix of full-timers and hobbyists. There are also performances by local musicians, a poetry evening, storytelling, competitions and workshops.<\/p>\n

Following the success of last year\u2019s \u2018Lundie Seals\u2019 auction which raised more than \u00a35,000, this year\u2019s charity event is the\u00a0\u2018Selkirk Seagull\u2019s\u2019 auction, raising funds for Maggie\u2019s, Fife. <\/p>\n

Largo Arts Week runs until 26 July, entry is free<\/em><\/p>\n

Gwen John at Modern Two<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taking over Modern Two at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art is Gwen John: Strange Beauties\u00a0<\/em>is the first major exhibition in Scotland devoted to the pioneering painter. <\/p>\n

Featuring rarely seen drawings and watercolours \u2013 many on show for the first time \u2013 it offers fresh insight into her quiet yet determined artistic vision. <\/p>\n

Gwen John\u2019s\u00a0Young Woman with a Coral Necklace<\/em>\u00a0(1910-1920) will go on public display for the first time since 1964, especially for this exhibition in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Marking 150 years since the Welsh artist was born,\u00a0Gwen John: Strange Beauties<\/em>\u00a0will offer a fresh new perspective on her exquisite work and\u00a0lasting legacy. Experience over 200 oil paintings, watercolours, and rarely seen sketches and archive materials across two floors\u00a0of Modern Two. <\/p>\n
