Diagnostic health testing company, Regenerus Laboratories, founded and chaired by corporate finance veteran Ben Thomson, has secured \u00a38 million to strengthen its Edinburgh-based platform and research centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The funds consist of a \u00a35m equity investment from private equity group Foresight and a \u00a33m R&D grant from Scottish Enterprise.<\/p>\n
Prof Thomson, who has been a non-executive director in more than 25 companies and was chief executive and chairman of the investment bank Noble Group for 13 years, said the investment \u201cmarks a pivotal moment for Regenerus\u201d, which he set up in 2012.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cWith Foresight as an institutional equity partner, coupled with grant support from Scottish Enterprise, we have the resources to scale decisively and drive the industry forward. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe advanced diagnostic testing is a critical part of solving the increasing pressure on secondary care. This funding allows us to put better testing, better data and better clinical insights into the hands of more practitioners, so they can keep their patients healthier for longer.\u201d<\/p>\n
At a time when the burden on healthcare services continues to grow, Regenerus said it is positioned to equip practitioners with preventative and robust tools that focus on enabling detection at the earliest stage and root cause intervention. <\/p>\n
