Mark Hedgecoe\u2019s credits include the documentary on Lady Mone<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Mark Hedgecoe<\/strong>, one of the instigators of hit documentaries on Lady Mone and Freddie Mercury, has joined STV Studios Factual, the unscripted production house as as creative director.<\/p>\n

He will take up the role at the Glasgow-based operation in October, reporting directly to STV Studios CEO,\u00a0David Mortimer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He will succeed Craig Hunter, who has been in the post since 2019 and will leave the business later this year.<\/p>\n

A multi award-winning creative leader with over 25 years\u2019 experience in factual programme-making, Mr Hedgecoe joins from Rogan Productions, where he has been head of Rogan Scotland since launching the company\u2019s Glasgow base in 2021.<\/p>\n

During his time at Rogan, Mark has overseen an extensive and wide-ranging development pipeline, with credits including\u00a0The Rise and Fall of Michelle Mone<\/em>\u00a0(BBC),\u00a0Becoming Frida Kahlo<\/em>\u00a0(BBC),\u00a0Original Sin: My Son the Killer<\/em>\u00a0(Showmax),\u00a0Body on the Beach: What Happened to Annie?<\/em>\u00a0(BBC),\u00a0The Secret of Me<\/em>\u00a0(Channel 4) and\u00a0Freddie Mercury: The Final Act\u00a0<\/em>(BBC) \u2013 with the latter winning the International Emmy for Best Arts Programming in 2022.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Rogan, he spent much of his career in various roles at the BBC, starting as a BBC News trainee and rising to become head of Pacific Quay Productions at BBC Studios. In this role, Mark led teams in Glasgow, London and Salford across titles such as\u00a0This Farming Life, Imagine<\/em>,\u00a0Songs of Praise<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Big Painting Challenge<\/em>. He previously led BBC Arts production across the UK and was deputy head of the BBC Science Unit.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve loved working with the team at Rogan and am extremely proud of the films and series we have made. The time now feels right for a new challenge.<\/p>\n
