Business leaders, a broadcaster and those involved in steering the energy transition are among the individuals named in the King\u2019s Birthday Honours.<\/p>\n
Willie Mackie<\/strong>, formerly interim chair at Scottish Enterprise and now chair, CentreStage, Kilmarnock is honoured with a CBE for services to education and the economy. <\/p>\n Sue Dawe<\/strong> managing partner at EY, Maitland Mackie<\/strong>, chairman of the eponymous ice cream maker Mackies of Scotland, and John Grant<\/strong>, chairman of J & G Grant whisky, are rewarded with OBEs. <\/p>\n The honour for Mr Mackie comes in a landmark year as the family-owned business celebrates 40 years of making ice cream.<\/p>\n An OBE has also been bestowed on Dr<\/strong> Rashmi Mantri,<\/strong> the founder and director of the British Youth International College, for services to maths education. She has built a business based on an ancient method of calculation using beads.<\/p>\n Breakfast radio show host George Bowie<\/strong> and Scottish Enterprise manager Jane Martin<\/strong> are among those who become an MBE, as does former footballer Lou Macari.<\/strong><\/p>\n CBE<\/p>\n David Currie,<\/strong> chair, Proserv, for services to International Trade, Energy Transition and Economic Growth; Allison Gardner<\/strong>, chief executive, Glasgow Film; Willie Mackie<\/strong>, formerly interim chair at Scottish Enterprise and now chair, CentreStage, Kilmarnock for services to education and the economy. <\/p>\n OBE<\/p>\n Susan Dawe,<\/strong> Scotland managing partner, EY, for services to financial services; Myrtle Dawes,<\/strong> chief executive, Net Zero Technology Centre, for services to Energy and Technology; John Grant<\/strong>, chair, J & G Grant, for services to the Scotch Whisky industry and to charity; Timothy Hall<\/strong>, head of estates and programmes, Woodland Trust Scotland, chair, Future Woodlands Scotland and trustee, Borders Forest Trust, for services to conservation and to forestry.<\/p>\n Andrew John Jamieson<\/strong>, lately chief executive of Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, for services to the renewable energy industries; June Frances Macgeachy<\/strong>, co-founder, Peak Scientific, for services to business, to education and to philanthropy; Maitland Mackie<\/strong>, chairman, Mackies of Scotland, for services to farming, to business innovation and to sustainability; Dr Rashmi Mantri<\/strong>, founder and chief executive, British Youth International College, for services to mathematics education; Allan Taylor<\/strong>, for services to renewable energy.<\/p>\n MBE<\/p>\n George Bowie<\/strong>, broadcaster and charity campaigner, for services to radio and to charity in Glasgow and the West of Scotland; Jane Martin<\/strong>, managing director innovation and investment, Scottish Enterprise, for services to the Scottish Economy; Charles Stephen Milne<\/strong>, managing director, Regency Group, for services to business and community development in Buckie and Banffshire; Nicholas James Richardson<\/strong>, head of exploration and new ventures, North Sea Transition Authority, for services to energy security and the energy transition; Becky Ruddy<\/strong>, programme director Fuel Cycle Area, NRS Dounreay, for services to women in the nuclear industry.<\/p>\n Medallist<\/p>\n James Fraser,<\/strong> chief executive, The Steamship Sir Walter Scott Trust.
