Bitcoin rose along with Treasuries and stock futures after US President Donald Trump said he\u2019d postpone strikes on Iranian energy power plants and energy infrastructure for five days.<\/p>\n
The biggest cryptocurrency advanced as much as 4.8% and traded at around $70 200 in early New York morning on Monday. Smaller tokens, including Ether and Solana, also rose.<\/p>\n
Bitcoin had earlier been fluctuating around a two-week low, sliding as far as $67 371 \u2014 its lowest level since March 9 \u2014 in Asia trading. The token has been volatile since the conflict in Iran began in late February, at one point reaching nearly $76 000 before tumbling again as tensions in the region escalated.<\/p>\n

Stocks and bonds rebounded following Trump\u2019s comments that the US and Iran had \u201cvery good\u201d conversations about an end to the war. Futures for the S&P 500 jumped nearly 3%, while Brent was down close to 7% at $103 a barrel.<\/p>\n
Flows that have been supporting Bitcoin\u2019s price over the last fortnight had weakened going into Monday, with inflows into US exchange-traded funds tied to the cryptocurrency turning negative.<\/p>\n
\u201cA potential catalyst to stabilise the markets for now would be some sort of de?escalation in the Middle East, or at a minimum a resumption of normal traffic through the Strait of Hormuz,\u201d analysts on Laser Digital\u2019s derivatives trading desk wrote in a note on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis could set off a chain of oil price stabilisation, followed by rate consolidation and improved risk sentiment,\u201d they added. \u201cMinus this, crypto markets are likely to stay heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n
