{"id":28002,"date":"2026-03-17T03:34:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T03:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=28002"},"modified":"2026-03-17T03:34:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T03:34:40","slug":"nvidias-dlss-5-uses-generative-ai-to-boost-photorealism-in-video-games-with-ambitions-beyond-gaming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=28002","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia\u2019s DLSS 5 uses generative AI to boost photorealism in video games, with ambitions beyond gaming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang used the company\u2019s keynote at <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/03\/16\/nvidia-gtc-how-to-watch-jensen-huang-2026-keynote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nvidia GTC <\/a>on Monday to introduce DLSS 5, a new version of the chipmaker\u2019s AI graphics tech designed to make video games more realistic while using less compute power.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new DLSS 5 system combines traditional 3D graphics data with generative AI models that can predict and fill in parts of an image, allowing Nvidia\u2019s GPUs to produce detailed scenes and lifelike characters without rendering every element from scratch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe fused controllable 3D graphics, the ground truth of virtual worlds, the structured data\u00a0\u2026 with generative AI, probabilistic computing,\u201d Huang said during his keynote speech. \u201cOne of them is completely predictive, the other one is probabilistic yet highly realistic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Huang said combining those two ideas \u2014 structured data with generative AI \u2014 allows developers to create content that is \u201cbeautiful, amazing, as well as controllable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis concept of fusing structured information and generative AI will repeat itself in one industry after another,\u201d Huang said. \u201cStructured data is the foundation of trustworthy AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaming makes up a smaller portion of Nvidia\u2019s revenue today than it has historically, though that\u2019s the industry that made Nvidia into what it is today.
