He made no plea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A\u00a0Police Scotland\u00a0spokesperson said: \u201cOn Tuesday 25 November 2025 officers executed a search warrant at a property in the Edinburgh area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cA 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with indecent online communications.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">McCann became editor of the titles in July, succeeding Magnus Llewellin. He previously worked as assistant editor and head of news at <em>The Herald,<\/em> assistant news editor at the <em>Daily Record <\/em>and worked in various roles at the <em>Edinburgh Evening News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A spokesperson for News UK, which owns the titles, said: \u201cWe have been informed that David McCann, editor of <em>The Times <\/em>and<em> The Sunday Times in Scotland<\/em>, has been made the subject of a criminal investigation unrelated to his work.
