{"id":26842,"date":"2026-03-06T19:05:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T19:05:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=26842"},"modified":"2026-03-06T19:05:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T19:05:12","slug":"anthropics-claude-found-22-vulnerabilities-in-firefox-over-two-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=26842","title":{"rendered":"Anthropic&#8217;s Claude found 22 vulnerabilities in Firefox over two weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a recent security partnership with Mozilla, Anthropic found <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/news\/mozilla-firefox-security\">22 separate vulnerabilities<\/a> in Firefox \u2014 14 of them classified as \u201chigh-severity.\u201d Most of the bugs have been fixed in <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firefox.com\/en-US\/firefox\/148.0\/releasenotes\/\">Firefox 148<\/a> (the version released this February), although a few fixes will have to wait for the next release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthropic\u2019s team used Claude Opus 4.6 over the span of two weeks, starting in the javascript engine and then expanding to other portions of the codebase. According to the post, the team focused on Firefox because \u201cit\u2019s both a complex codebase and one of the most well-tested and secure open-source projects in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notably, Claude Opus was much better at finding vulnerabilities than writing software to exploit them.
