Donald Trump today turned on Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour government, calling for the UK to \u201copen up the North Sea\u201d and deal with illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n
In a coruscating reference to the Prime Minister\u2019s failure to support his mission in Iran, the US president said this was \u201cnot Winston Churchill we are dealing with\u201d.<\/p>\n
Speaking from the Oval Office, he criticised the decision of the UK to import energy supplies from Norway instead of using its own resources in the same region.<\/p>\n
He said he was \u201cnot happy with the UK\u201d over its decision on the Chagos islands which caused the US problems is not being able to land there.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the Iran mission, he said some of the European nations \u201chave been great, some have been terrible\u201d, adding that he would \u201ccut off all trade with Spain\u201d for its \u201cunfriendly\u201d approach to defence.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpain has been very uncooperative and so has UK. The second one is shocking. But this is not the age of Churchill. The UK has been very, very uncooperative.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat stupid island that they have that they gave away and took a hundred year lease\u2026 they ruined relationships. It\u2019s a shame.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat country, the UK, and I love that country, my mother was born there, but the UK, what they are doing with energy and with immigration is horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n
He repeated his earlier comments about wind turbines, stating at a press conference that the UK has \u201cwindmills all over the place that are ruining the country and the landscape.<\/p>\n
\u201cOpen up the North sea. They [the UK] buy their energy from Norway which gets its energy from the North Sea and the UK has the better part of the North Sea.<\/p>\n
\u201cNumber two, illegal immigration. They have got to solve that problem and I must say it is not only the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Trump accused the Iranians of being \u201cmentally ill, sick people\u201d and said he had to attack following failed negotiations with \u201clunatics\u201d.<\/p>\n
