According to reports, the military campaign coincided with cyberattacks targeting the country, one of which flooded a popular phone app with notifications, amid an ongoing outage across the Iranian internet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strikes came after several days of failed negotiations between Tehran and Washington. The conflict threatens to spill into the wider Middle East, as Iran retaliates with its own missiles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon said it was experiencing an outage at its Middle East data center in the United Arab Emirates, soon after Iranian missiles hit the coastal country. Amazon <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/status.aws.amazon.com\/#multipleservices-me-central-1_1772386871\">said its outage<\/a> was caused by \u201cobjects that struck the data center, creating sparks and fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conflict is also likely to <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-03-02\/iran-strikes-snarl-e-commerce-delivery-times-to-middle-east\">disrupt critical ecommerce air and sea routes<\/a>, as ships carrying goods through the Strait of Hormuz near Iran grind to a halt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doug Madory, the director of internet analysis at Kentik, said in <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/eldomador.bsky.social\/post\/3mfwguosys22j\">a post on Bluesky<\/a> that internet connectivity dropped to near-zero levels soon after airstrikes hit the country on Saturday morning.
