The company\u2019s annual net loss narrowed in 2025 to $288 million from $398 million, as higher prices eased the impact of asset writedowns, it said in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Sibanye\u2019s gold and platinum-group metals mines in South Africa \u201cdelivered substantial earnings uplift,\u201d while palladium operations in the US returned to profitability following a restructuring initiated in 2024, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Read: Sibanye-Stillwater impairs R14bn<\/p>\n<div class=\"visible-sm-block visible-xs-block m1010\">\n<div class=\"ad-container-wrapper\">\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>CONTINUE READING BELOW<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Gold soared 65% last year, while PGMs recovered after a prolonged period of weak prices. Platinum doubled during 2025 and palladium climbed almost 80%. The precious-metal rally continued into this year, before pulling back since late January.<\/p>\n<p>The firm\u2019s headline earnings \u2014 which strip out some one-time items such as impairments \u2014 almost quadrupled to $387 million.<\/p>\n<p>Read: World Gold Council moves to modernise gold trading as demand surges<\/p>\n<p>Sibanye began life in 2013 as the owner of three aging gold mines in its home country.
