Russia ‘not ready for peace’ with ‘no tangible signs’ of serious engagement, EU says<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

The EU sees \u201cno tangible signs that Russia is engaging seriously\u201d with the aim of securing peace in Ukraine<\/a>, its spokesperson said, responding to the latest round of talks in Geneva.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking at the European Commission\u2019s midday briefing in Geneva, EU foreign affairs spokesperson Anouar El Anouni<\/strong> said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see that Russia continues its relentless attacks on Ukraine. This does reflect that Russia is not ready for peace.<\/strong> We still do not see tangible signs that Russia is engaging seriously on peace. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Even this week, ahead of the peace talks, Ukraine experienced another massive missile and drone strike, according to Ukrainian authorities. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

As long as the bloodshed continues, we will continue to put pressure on Russia.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He also added that \u201cnothing can be decided about Ukraine without Europe at the negotiating table.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The EU also confirmed that it was aware that national security advisers from France, Germany, Italy, UK were involved in the talks.<\/p>\n
