French accessories retailer Longchamp, has opened a store in Edinburgh, its first standalone outlet in the UK outside London.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Located on\u00a0Multrees Walk, it joins a list of other luxury brands on the pedestrianised street, such as Gucci, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Scottish designer Strathberry.<\/p>\n
Stephanie Azan, UK managing director of Longchamp, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to bring Longchamp\u2019s unique heritage of craftsmanship and signature style to Edinburgh. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis new boutique represents a significant step in our commitment to growing\u00a0the brand\u2019s presence across the UK and our commitment to continue to offer elevated experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adam Stone, head of European retail leasing strategy at landlord Nuveen said: \u201cThe arrival of Longchamp is a significant moment for Multrees Walk with the French brand\u2019s heritage, craftsmanship and global prestige making it an excellent addition to the Walk.<\/p>\n

The arrival of Longchamp coincided with new figures from the Scottish Retail Consortium showing an encouraging rise in retail sales in Scotland.<\/p>\n
Total sales increased by 3.3% during January, compared with the same month last year, when they had increased by 1.5%.<\/p>\n
Footfall also improved last month, up by 5.1% year-on-year and by 5.5% in Edinburgh. In Glasgow it rose 4.8%.<\/p>\n
Ewan MacDonald-Russell, deputy head of the Scottish Retail Consortium, explained that the sales performance was the best monthly total since last April, albeit the figures benefited from comparison with the storm-hit figures last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter a disappointing 2025 retailers will hope this presages a sustained return to retail destinations from shoppers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
