On February 6, 2026, the “Gebaute Gemeinschaft – G\u00f6beklitepe, Ta? Tepeler and Life 12,000 Years Ago” exhibition opened at Berlin<\/a><\/span>‘s James-Simon-Galerie<\/a><\/span>. Scheduled to be running until July 19, 2026, the show featured 93 archaeological artifacts brought from Turkey<\/a><\/span> from G\u00f6beklitepe<\/a><\/span> and the Ta? Tepeler<\/a><\/span> region.\n<\/p>\n

Stone sculptures from the UNESCO<\/a><\/span> World Heritage<\/a><\/span> site G\u00f6beklitepe were exhibited alongside finds from Karahantepe<\/a><\/span>, Saybur\u00e7<\/a><\/span>, and \u00c7akmaktepe<\/a><\/span>. Everyday objects, and jewelry were on display. Spanish photographer Isabel Mu\u00f1oz<\/a><\/span>‘s contemporary interpretations framing the hunter-gatherers’ transition to settled life across eight thematic sections, which were exhibited in Spain earlier in 2024, were also included in the exhibition.\n<\/p>\n

The exhibition was curated by Barbara Helwing (Vorderasiatisches Museum) and Necmi Karul (Istanbul University<\/a><\/span>) in collaboration with ?anl?urfa Archaeology Museum and the Ta? Tepeler research project.\n<\/p>\n

It was the first time some exhibits were brought abroad, after having been exhibited in several locations in Turkey.\n<\/p>\n
