A person has been detained for questioning by the Pima county sheriff\u2019s department in relation to Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the person was detained Tuesday south of Tucson, Arizona. A search of a location connected to the individual is planned by law enforcement, ABC News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Tuesday, the FBI released new photos and video footage <\/strong>of someone the agency\u2019s director described as \u201can armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie\u2019s front door the morning of her disappearance<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Broadcast journalist Savannah Guthrie, host of NBC\u2019s Today and Nancy\u2019s daughter, wrote on social media: \u201cWe believe she is still alive. Bring her home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FBI director, Kash Patel, published the images as the search for Nancy <\/strong>Guthrie, 84, stretched into its second week, saying the images had been \u201cpreviously inaccessible\u201d but were subsequently obtained from \u201cresidual data located in back-end systems\u201d.<\/p>\n

The black-and-white images<\/a> depict a masked figure wearing gloves and a backpack approaching the door of Guthrie\u2019s house. In one of the images, the person waves what appears to be a plant \u2013 and in the other, they begin to dismantle the Nest camera.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with our partners, as of [Tuesday] morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at \u2026 Guthrie\u2019s front door the morning of her disappearance,\u201d Patel wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Savannah Guthrie issued a desperate plea on Monday for anyone who might know anything about her missing mother to contact law enforcement. \u201cWe are at an hour of desperation,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we need your help.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FBI has yet to identify a suspect, a day after the lapse of a deadline set by a ransom note from the octogenarian\u2019s purported kidnappers.<\/p>\n

The Guthrie family said on Sunday that they would pay kidnappers to ensure she safely returns home. Authorities have not confirmed the veracity of this ransom demand.<\/p>\n

Efforts to contact the kidnappers appear to have fallen short, with officials saying on Monday night that they were \u201cnot aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers, nor have we identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time\u201d.<\/p>\n

The FBI said the agency was sending more agents from field offices across the US to Guthrie\u2019s home city of Tucson, Arizona<\/a>, outside of which her blood had been found.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are currently operating a 24-hour command post that includes crisis management experts, analytic support, and investigative teams. But we still need the public\u2019s help,\u201d NBC News quoted<\/a> the FBI as saying. \u201cSomeone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home. We need that person to share what they know. Please call us at 1-800-CALL-FBI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Separately, the Guthrie family\u2019s pastor, Michael Rudzena, described Nancy on television as a \u201cstrong woman\u201d and \u201cfiercely loving\u201d.<\/p>\n
