Trump says Bad Bunny’s historic Super Bowl show was ‘absolutely terrible’<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of US politics. Donald Trump<\/a> has said Bad Bunny\u2019s historic Super Bowl half-time show<\/strong> performance celebrating Latino heritage and culture was \u201cabsolutely terrible\u201d and \u201can affront to the Greatness of America\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Puerto Rican musician was reported to have made history by becoming the first Super Bowl<\/a> half-time show headliner to perform (nearly) entirely in Spanish, and to host a wedding during the show, which included appearances from Lady Gaga<\/strong> and Ricky Martin<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy Truth Social Post published after, Trump wrote:<\/p>\n

<\/svg>The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn\u2019t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.<\/em><\/p>\n

Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.<\/em><\/p>\n

This \u201cShow\u201d is just a \u201cslap in the face\u201d to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day \u2013 including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!<\/em><\/p>\n

There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven\u2019t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sunday\u2019s performance came a week after Bad Bunny\u2019s \u2018Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos\u2019 became the first Spanish-language album to win the Grammy for album of the year, building more anticipation for his Super Bowl show, still one of the staples of the American cultural calendar.<\/p>\n

The selection of the 31-year-old, born Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, to perform drew criticism from rightwing media commentators<\/a>, as he has been vocally critical of ICE and of Trump and his administration\u2019s authoritarian immigration policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod bless America!\u201d Bad Bunny shouted toward the end of the half-time show, which ran to nearly 14 minutes. He then gave a roll call of the countries of North, South and Central America, including Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, the US and Canada.<\/p>\n
