{"id":18213,"date":"2026-02-03T01:37:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T01:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=18213"},"modified":"2026-02-03T01:37:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T01:37:28","slug":"palantir-beats-wall-street-expectations-amid-trump-immigration-crackdown-palantir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microvibenews.com\/?p=18213","title":{"rendered":"Palantir beats Wall Street expectations amid Trump immigration crackdown | Palantir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Palantir celebrated its latest financial results on Monday, as the tech company blew past Wall Street expectations and continues to prop up the Trump administration\u2019s push to deport immigrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Palantir has secured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/ng-interactive\/2025\/sep\/22\/ice-palantir-data\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">millions of dollars in federal contracts<\/a> amid Trump\u2019s crackdown on immigrants. The multibillion-dollar Denver-based firm creates tech focused on surveillance and analytics, to be used by the government agencies and private companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Palantir\u2019s biggest US customer is the Department of Defense; it also works with the Department of Homeland Security, and the majority of its revenue comes from deals with the federal government. Palantir reported <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.palantir.com\/news-details\/2026\/Palantir-Reports-Q4-2025-U-S--Comm-Revenue-Growth-of-137-YY-and-Revenue-Growth-of-70-YY-Issues-FY-2026-Revenue-Guidance-of-61-YY-and-U-S--Comm-Revenue-Guidance-of-115-YY-Crushing-Consensus-Expectations\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">66% year-over-year growth in revenue<\/a> from government contracts, to $570m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Palantir<strong> <\/strong>has drawn further criticism over its role in the government\u2019s immigration agenda, since federal immigration officers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2026\/jan\/31\/a-week-on-the-block-where-alex-pretti-was-killed\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">killed two protesters in Minneapolis<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Palantir chief executive Alex Karp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/02\/02\/palantir-ceo-ice-government-protests-karp.html\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">told CNBC<\/a> in an interview Monday that Palantir helps protect sensitive data. \u201cIf you are critical of ICE, you should be out there protesting for more Palantir,\u201d he said. \u201cOur product, actually, in its core, requires people to conform with fourth amendment data protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The company beat Wall Street expectations of $1.33bn with $1.41bn in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2025. It reported earnings per share (EPS) of $0.25 \u2013 which also surpassed Wall Street expectations of $0.23 in EPS. The company\u2019s stocks jumped about 8% in after-hours trading after the release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Karp described the company\u2019s growth on an earnings call as \u201cone of the truly iconic performances in the history of corporate performance\u201d. He wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palantir.com\/q4-2025-letter\/en\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">letter<\/a> accompanying the earnings report that the $1.4bn in revenue generated in last year\u2019s fourth quarter marks a new record \u2013 a 70% growth rate over the same period the year before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cWe did this while supporting, in critical manner, some of the most interesting intricate, unusual, operations that the US government has been involved in \u2013 many of which we can\u2019t comment on \u2013 but were the highlight of last year and highly motivating to all of us at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/palantir\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Palantir<\/a>,\u201d Karp said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Karp doubled down on his data protection claim on the call, arguing that Palantir\u2019s work with the US government, including intelligence agencies, aligns with the fourth amendment and makes sure \u201cevery institution that uses (Palantir\u2019s) products is doing it within conformity of the law and ethics of America\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Data privacy advocates are not convinced. \u201cPalantir tools are ICE\u2019s digital henchmen,\u201d said Will Owen, communications director at the non-profit, Surveillance Technology Oversight Project, in a statement to the Guardian. \u201cTheir revenue may be up thanks to Trump, but no one is buying that they hold ICE accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Last year, ICE awarded Palantir a nearly $30m contract to build ImmigrationOS, which makes it easier to pull information about immigrants from across government databases \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org\/blog\/ice-immigrationos-palantir-ai-track-immigrants\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">regardless of the accuracy<\/a> of those records. 404 Media recently reported on the existence of another tool created by Palantir for the federal government: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.404media.co\/here-is-the-user-guide-for-elite-the-tool-palantir-made-for-ice\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Enhanced Leads Identification &amp; Targeting for Enforcement (Elite)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Elite \u201cpopulates a map with potential deportation targets, brings up a dossier on each person, and provides a \u2018confidence score\u2019 on the person\u2019s current address\u201d, according to 404 Media. The program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/deeplinks\/2026\/01\/report-ice-using-palantir-tool-feeds-medicaid-data\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">reportedly<\/a> relies on address data from the Department of Health and Human Services, which includes Medicaid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Wired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/ice-is-using-palantirs-ai-tools-to-sort-through-tips\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">reported<\/a> last week that the federal government has been using Palantir\u2019s AI tools to process immigration enforcement tips.
