Two adults and two children have been found dead in the Perth suburb of Mosman Park in a suspected double murder-suicide, police say.<\/p>\n
At 8.15am on Friday, emergency services received a distressed call from a person known to the family who had gone to the home on Mott Close.<\/p>\n
Police arrived on the scene shortly after to find the bodies of two adults, a man aged 50 and a woman aged 49, and two children aged 14 and 16 \u2013 a family unit. Three deceased pets were also found.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis tragic incident occurred only this morning and it will take time for investigate the full circumstances surrounding this incident,\u201d Det Insp Jessica Securo said in Friday.<\/p>\n
Securo said it didn\u2019t appear to be \u201cviolent\u201d incident, saying no weapon appeared to have been used. The family did not have any reported family violence matters with police.<\/p>\n
Securo added that both children had \u201csignificant health challenges\u201d and had engaged with care services in the past.<\/p>\n
A note was left at the premises but Securo said police were unable to reveal the letter\u2019s contents. She said the letter was the main reason police were treating the incident as a murder-suicide.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for St John Ambulance WA said it send five crews to the house this morning just before 8.30am on priority 1 conditions, which reflect potentially life-threatening calls.<\/p>\n
Securo described it as a \u201cconfronting\u201d scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe officers are understandably in shock after being confronted with such an incident like this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not often that our officers come across such a tragic event with this many persons deceased.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s why we employ a health and welfare and our police chaplain to attend the scene as soon as possible, speak to the officers, wrap our arms around them and make sure they are OK.\u201d<\/p>\n
