Hollywood star George Clooney is returning to Scotland on a humanitarian mission and as a guest at the annual British Business Awards.<\/p>\n
Following last year\u2019s awards event, which featured a stripped back performance from Sting and keynote from Sir Bob Geldof, next year\u2019s event will once again aim to raise a minimum of \u00a31 million for homelessness charity, Social Bite.\u00a0<\/p>\n
NatWest Group is supporting the event at the EICC on 30 April with up to 2,000 guests expected to attend.<\/p>\n
Alongside a conversation with actor, the 2026 event will be introduced with remarks from awards patron Sir Bob Geldof and co-hosted by comedians Rob Brydon and Elaine C Smith.<\/p>\n
Clooney will also attend a special fundraising dinner the previous evening at Gleneagles Hotel being organised by Social Bite and will discuss his career in Hollywood and humanitarian work as the co-founder of the Clooney Foundation for Justice.<\/p>\n
The actor visited Edinburgh and the Social Bite caf\u00e9 in November 2015, helping raise awareness for the charity\u2019s mission to end homelessness.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s British Business Awards\u2019 finalists included blue-chip companies such as Dell Computing, HP, The PureGym Group, Scottish Power and Miller Homes alongside entrepreneurs and leaders from across the UK. <\/p>\n
For next year\u2019s awards, an independent judging panel is made up of 18 key figures from British industry chaired by the former CEO of Unilever Alan Jope, alongside Emma Crystal, CEO of Coutts Bank. and Phil Urban, CEO of Mitchells & Butlers.<\/p>\n
