Financial terms were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Damiani, which is privately held, also owns Rocca, a luxury watch and jewelry distributor with a chain of boutiques in Italy. \u201cWe will both benefit from this new start,\u201d J\u00e9r\u00f4me Favier, Damiani\u2019s chief executive officer, told Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamiani Group will expand its offer in the watch segment and attract a new customer base,\u201d Favier said. \u201cBaume &amp; Mercier will be able to count not only on our solid position in wholesale, but also on our strong expertise in the watch market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luxury watches are coming off a tough year, when US President Donald Trump\u2019s tariffs, record gold prices and weak demand in China weighed on sales and exports. Richemont\u2019s specialist watchmakers reported a 7% sales increase in the final quarter of last year \u2014 a sign the slump may be abating.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is expected to close in the summer of 2026 and remains subject to certain conditions, according to the statement.
