Kieren Daniel Mittelheuser, a 30-year-old man, has become the third person charged in connection with the alleged murder of teenager Phoebe Bishop. Yesterday, at 7:00 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time (09:00 UTC), he was arrested in Bundaberg West<\/a><\/span> in the Australian state of Queensland<\/a> and charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder. It has been alleged by police that he used Bishop’s phone to interfere with the investigation. Mittelheuser has also been charged with unlicensed driving, fraud, breach of bail, and drug possession.\n<\/p>\n

Although Mittelheuser’s matter was mentioned in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today, he did not appear in court. He currently remains in custody and has not applied for bail. Nevertheless, Mittelheuser is due to appear in court on August 25. A brief of evidence for accessory<\/a><\/span> after the fact to murder and fraud has been ordered by Magistrate John McInnes. James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, who were housemates of Phoebe Bishop, were previously charged with her murder and with two counts each of interfering with a corpse. According to 7News<\/a><\/span><\/i>, they are scheduled to appear in court in August.\n<\/p>\n

On May 15, Pheobe Bishop, a seventeen-year-old girl living in Gin Gin<\/a><\/span> in the Bundaberg Region of the Australian state of Queensland, disappeared after she missed a flight from Bundaberg Airport. She had reportedly intended to visit her boyfriend in Perth, according to multiple news outlets. Police searches were largely unsuccessful until June 6, when police found human remains, which were later confirmed to be Bishop’s. Police have continued to appeal for information regarding Bishop or the movement of a grey Hyundai IX35 from May 15 to 18 in the greater Gin Gin area.\n<\/p>\n
