Elon Musk\u2019s X is experiencing its second large-scale outage this week. <\/p>\n
The site and app, formerly known as Twitter, are either not loading at all or glitching into life briefly before throwing up error messages like gang signs. <\/p>\n
The site Down Detector<\/a> shows nearly 80,000 reports of X being down starting at around 10am eastern time, and is still down at the time of this writing.<\/p>\n This is the second major outage at X<\/a> this week, following an earlier technical issue. It comes as the platform faces criticism after Grok, xAI\u2019s chatbot that is integrated into X, has been fulfilling user requests to manipulate real photos of women<\/a>, and even children, into nonconsensual sexual and violent imagery.<\/p>\n When Musk took over Twitter in 2022<\/a>, he laid off much of the staff<\/a>, sparking worries that the site wouldn\u2019t be able to function normally or adequately monitor for harmful content.
