The Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) has named Conor Maguire as its operations director as it prepares for a year of substantial growth.<\/p>\n
Maguire steps up from his position as installations manager, the promotion coming four years after joining.<\/p>\n
Having originally started in January 2022 as a gas engineer, it has been a rapid rise for the Dunfermline-based father-of-two.<\/p>\n
As a member of EBC\u2019s first air source heat pump team, Maguire played a key role in helping the firm transition into renewables, while he also ran the team responsible for the one-day heating installations as part of the Scottish Government\u2019s Warmworks framework focusing on low-carbon heating and energy efficiency as part of the Heat in Buildings Scotland National Scheme.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis role means a lot and shows me how much I have developed since joining,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo have come in as a gas engineer and now be at director level is something I\u2019m very proud of. I am very fortunate to be able to learn from the bosses Mark Glasgow and Dougie Bell. I can\u2019t think of any better mentors and am determined to repay their faith.<\/p>\n
\u201cI intend to keep driving everyone forward. We have some big targets to hit this year and I\u2019ll be doing my best to ensure we reach them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Maguire\u2019s promotion comes a matter of months after Rick Bull was promoted to sales director, with managing director Dougie Bell believing the appointments put one of Scotland\u2019s top boiler installers in a good position to meet its ambitious turnover target of \u00a320 million this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the rate of growth we are experiencing, and where we expect to be in 12 months\u2019 time, moving Conor up into the operations role made sense,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has grown into the business, is good with the customers and has developed superbly. When I stepped up from operations director to MD two years ago with Mark becoming chairman, we never backfilled the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis now positions us well and allows me more capacity to focus on growing the company and hitting the targets we have set for the coming year and beyond. With Rick Bull now sales director having built up the solar side of the business, I believe we are in a really good place at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
